Middlesex: XD vs St. Gabriels (5-4)

That was our first real test after the initial 9-0 against Riverside 2, and indeed quite a tough match ending with a great win 5-4!

Playing in a church hall was something new definitely, even though there were no signs of religion. There was only one court, so lots of waiting, coaching, eating pizzas, and cheering of course. It was a fun atmosphere but yeah 5 hours that's quite long!

Niki and Dawid pulled out 3 great wins again, taking their top pair role very seriously, but with Angelique and myself not playing our best and losing all 3 (one by 23-21 in the deciding game aaah!), it was all up to Lauren and Curnow! After powering through Sandra the Giant and her partner, but losing focus in their second rubber, it was 4-4 before their last one, and they played the perfect game to get us the victory point!

Really well done, team! And thanks Abi for the support!

Player of the day: Lauren, for showing us how strong she can be when she's not messing around!

Let's hope for more happy faces after the return leg in December!
